The trial of Sainabou Mbye (1st accused) and two others at the High Court of the Gambia could not proceed today, as previously scheduled.
Following Justice Ebrima Jaiteh’s dismissal of the “No Case To Answer” application filed by the defense counsels representing Sainabou Mbye (1st accused), Cherno Mbye (2nd accused), and Kibilly Dembelly (3rd accused), the accused were expected to open their defense today. However, the case could not proceed as the judiciary was gathered at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Superior Court Judges.
The swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed judges was graced by High Court judges including Justice Jaiteh, the judge presiding over Sainabou Mbye, and two other’s cases.
