President Adama Barrow has praised the ongoing development in Brufut, describing the community’s transformation as comparable to that of Dubai. He made the remarks during a tour of ongoing projects in the Kanifing Municipality and the West Coast Region, where the government is investing in road construction, urban improvements, and community development initiatives.
Reflecting on his visit to Brufut, President Barrow expressed satisfaction with the visible progress. “When I entered Brufut today, I felt something else. I was very, very happy with the way Brufut is. It is just like Dubai—believe me. This is development,” he said.
The president also outlined the government’s long-term national development objectives, reaffirming its commitment to achieving middle-income status by 2031. “We want to make sure that before the end of 2031, we will be a middle-income country,” he stated.
During the tour, President Barrow visited several infrastructure project sites to assess progress and engage with contractors, consultants, and community members. He noted that the projects are aimed at improving living conditions, enhancing road networks, and promoting sustainable economic growth across local communities.
