NDP Leader Kebba Madi Bojang Says Ruling NPP Is Seeking His Return

Kebba Madi Bojang, leader of the National Democratic Party, says the ruling National People’s Party is trying to persuade him to return to its ranks, even as other opposition parties have approached him about possible political cooperation.

Bojang, a former NPP member who later broke with the ruling party, said during an appearance on Kerr Fatou’s The Brunch Show that the NPP had been more persistent in its efforts to bring him back than other political parties seeking to engage him.

He said the outreach underscored what he described as the NDP’s growing relevance in the country’s political landscape. Bojang added that the party would disclose more information about its membership and political activities in the coming weeks.

Asked whether the NPP was simultaneously trying to lure him back and weaken his new political organization, Bojang said both were happening.

“Of course they are doing both,” he said. “They are trying to convince us to join them but also working to undermine our political activities. NDP is a relevant entity in the political space.”

Bojang did not provide specific examples of what he described as attempts to undermine the NDP.

He also dismissed suggestions that a recent NPP political gathering in Jambur had weakened his support in the community. Bojang said he had a longstanding record of service there and remained confident in the backing of residents.

He further accused the ruling party of bringing supporters from other parts of the country to bolster attendance at the Jambur gathering. He claimed that President Adama Barrow and senior NPP officials were aware of how the event had been organized.

Bojang did not provide evidence to support the allegation, and the NPP has not publicly responded to his claims.
