APP-Sobeya Faction Moves to Join Bensouda’s Coalition 2026 Ahead of Presidential Election

A faction of the All People’s Party-Sobeyaa (APP-Sobeya), comprising founding members of the party, has provisionally agreed to align with Coalition 2026, led by Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda, ahead of the December 5th presidential election, sources familiar with the discussions have told Kerr Fatou.

According to sources within APP-Sobeya and Coalition 2026, the decision was reached during a meeting of the APP faction’s executive body on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

The proposed alliance, which remains subject to formal endorsement, would see the faction throw its support behind Mr. Bensouda’s presidential bid.

Sources further disclosed that APP regional representatives, constituency chairpersons, and executive members are scheduled to meet on Monday, October 19, to formally consider and endorse the decision to join Coalition 2026.
