The Gambia Immigration Department on Monday facilitated the voluntary repatriation of 33 non-Gambian migrants through the Amdallai Border Post in the North Bank Region, officials said.
The group included 16 Senegalese nationals, 16 Guineans, and one Ivorian. According to the department, the migrants were intercepted on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Busumbala and Brusubi during operations aimed at disrupting irregular migration routes.
In a statement, the department said the repatriation “underscores the GID’s continued commitment to combating irregular migration and strengthening border security.”
