A new borehole water system was inaugurated on Tuesday at the women’s garden in Bojonkoto Ward, Faraba Banta village, providing a 4,000-liter water supply to an area that has long faced water shortages.

The project was donated by the United Democratic Party’s Denmark Chapter, according to the chairman of the Brikama Area Council, Yankuba Darboe, who officiated at the inauguration on Jan. 6, 2026.

Mr. Darboe said the borehole was intended to ease persistent water constraints affecting women engaged in gardening and small-scale agricultural activities in the ward. He described the donation as the culmination of years of appeals for assistance.

“After many years of requests for support, I am excited to have been able to provide and inaugurate a 4,000-liter borehole water supply to the women’s garden of the Bojonkoto Ward of Faraba Banta village yesterday, 6 January 2026,” Darboe said.

He expressed gratitude to members of the UDP Denmark Chapter, singling out its chairman, Edrisa Sanyang, along with Omar Bojang, Kebba Kevin Susso, Maimouna Sanyang and other members, for supporting the initiative.

Local residents welcomed the project, viewing it as a significant intervention in improving access to clean water and supporting livelihoods in the community.
