Remit Choice Money Transfer on Saturday presented an Umrah package and an iPhone 17 Pro Max to the winners of its recent promotional campaign, during a ceremony held at Casa Afriqa.

Ebrima Sanneh was named the grand prize winner of the Umrah package, while Tijan Malick Mboob received the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Both prizes were accepted on behalf of the winners by family members, Dembo Sanneh and Kebba Mboob.

The event brought together customers, business partners and members of the media. Among those in attendance were Ali Hydara, country manager for Remit Choice The Gambia, and Baboucarr Saho, deputy chief executive officer of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In remarks at the ceremony, Mr. Hydara said the occasion was intended not only to distribute prizes but to recognize customer loyalty and strengthen relationships.

“At Remit Choice, we believe in rewarding trust, empowering communities and bringing families closer together across the globe,” he said. “This evening, we celebrate the people who make that possible—our loyal customers.”

He described the Umrah package as “a life-changing reward,” adding that the initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to providing fast, secure and reliable money transfer services connecting Gambians at home and abroad.

Mr. Hydara also announced plans for a new promotional campaign ahead of Tobaski, scheduled to launch on April 28.

“We will be introducing a major Tobaski campaign, bringing even more opportunities and rewards to our valued customers,” he said.

Mr. Saho, speaking on behalf of the chamber, said businesses that recognize and reward their customers contribute positively to the economy.

He noted that remittances to The Gambia are approaching $900 million, underscoring their growing importance. Beyond financial transactions, he said, remittances play a vital role in supporting households by covering medical expenses, school fees and housing needs.

“This is more than a transaction,” Mr. Saho said. “It is a tool that continues to impact lives and livelihoods.”

Family members who accepted the prizes expressed appreciation for the recognition. Kebba Mboob, accepting on behalf of his brother, said the winner was pleased with the company’s service, describing it as efficient and reliable.

Dembo Sanneh, who received the Umrah package for his brother, said the family was initially skeptical but later reassured by consistent communication from the company.

“We are deeply grateful for this opportunity,” he said, offering thanks to both the company and God for the award.

The ceremony concluded with renewed assurances from Remit Choice of its commitment to customer-focused services and future promotions.
