Almameh Gibba the flagbearer of the No To Alliance Movement, speaking at the movement’s rally in Buffer Zone, where he was declared as the movement’s flagbearer by former president Jammeh, has called on opposition parties to join forces ahead of the December 2026 presidential election, saying his movement is ready to work with any party to bring change to The Gambia.
He invites all opposition political parties to work together towards their shared goal of changing the country’s leadership.
“I, being the candidate of No To Alliance, I am calling on all political parties that we are here with, and we will form a coalition to make sure we change this country. Our door is open to every political party,” he said.
He also called on Gambians at home and abroad to support the movement in the December 5 election.
He said the movement’s first priority, if it wins, will be to remove foreign security forces from the country. He also pledged to ensure that The Gambia’s natural resources benefit Gambians rather than foreign interests.
In agriculture he promised to strengthen the sector and revive the “grow what you eat and eat what you grow” approach by Jammeh
He also pledged to improve healthcare and make medical services affordable and accessible to all Gambians, regardless of their background or political affiliation.
“We will work towards making sure free medical healthcare is at the doorstep of every Gambian, irrespective of your color, political affiliation, culture, and your status,” he said.
He also said a government led by him will also respect both Christianity and Islam, promising not to compromise on religious matters.
He urged Gambians to work together to improve the country, saying his movement was open to cooperation with other political parties ahead of the December election.
