Halifa Sallah is expected in Germany on October 6 to grace a meeting expected to discuss the governance environment in Gambia, opportunities and challenges for the youths.

According to a report by the DW, a German broadcaster, many companies are struggling to find workers. One Bavarian brewery has turned to refugees to help fill the gap.

They come from several countries, including Gambia, Syria and Iraq. For them, getting a job is about having more independence.

And that creates a “win-win,” says the brewery owner.

Meanwhile, Kerr Fatou has learned that Gambians in Germany will hold a meeting on October 6 to discuss their plight.

The National Assembly member for Serrekunda East, Halifa Sallah, will be present at the meeting to discuss the governance environment in Gambia and the opportunities and challenges for the youths.

The Gambian migrants are also inviting German companies who are in need of migrant labour to talk about their situation.

Also, authorities in German will be invited to the event.

Others to be present at the event are Amnesty International, the association of German (Labour) Handworkers, the honorary consulate for Gambians in Germany (Stuttgart) and a representative from the Gambians refugees.

The meeting will talk about vital issues regarding the welfare of Gambians in Germany.

“The panelists would be talking about the current reintegration for Gambian returnees, the Gambian- EU and German relationship on migration, the identification process of Gambian asylum seekers in Germany among other vital issues,” said a statement issued on the publicity of the meeting.
