The Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Seedy K.M. Keita, on Tuesday praised the Gambia Revenue Authority for what he described as an exceptional performance in 2025, calling the institution a model of professionalism and collective effort.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Authority’s headquarters in Banjul on January 6, Mr. Keita said the GRA had evolved into “an institution of global renown,” a reflection, he noted, of sustained reforms and dedication across its workforce.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Finance, the minister emphasized that the Authority’s success was the result of contributions at every level. “From the cleaner to the driver, everybody is important,” he said, underscoring the value of teamwork in achieving institutional goals.
Mr. Keita urged staff to build on the gains recorded in 2025 and to maintain the momentum in the year ahead. The visit, the statement added, also served as an opportunity for dialogue, idea-sharing, and recognition of the collective efforts of GRA employees.
The Commissioner General of the GRA, Yankuba Darboe, welcomed the minister’s visit and expressed gratitude for the recognition, reaffirming the Authority’s commitment to meeting its revenue and performance targets for 2026.
The chairman of the GRA Board, Dawda M.E. Ndure, also praised the minister, describing his engagement as a significant morale booster. He commended Mr. Keita’s “humility” and leadership style, saying the visit sent a strong signal of support to the institution and its staff.
