The Deputy Spokesperson of the ruling National People’s Party (NPP), Hon. Seedy Njie, has expressed gratitude to voters in Foni and Kiang following the party’s victory in the recent by-elections, conveying a message of appreciation from President Adama Barrow.
Speaking after the results were announced, Njie said President Barrow, who is also the Secretary General and Party Leader of the NPP, was thankful to all voters in the two regions. “As the nation turns grey, the Secretary General and Party Leader of the National People’s Party, His Excellency President Adama Barrow, appreciates each and every voter in Kiang and Foni,” he stated.
Njie described the by-election outcome as a clear vote of confidence in the NPP government and in President Barrow’s leadership, particularly in the management of national affairs and the pursuit of socio-economic development aimed at improving the lives and livelihoods of Gambians.
He further asserted that the results demonstrate the readiness of Gambians to re-elect President Barrow in the forthcoming presidential election.
According to Njie, President Barrow remains committed to delivering what he described as unprecedented development across the country. He noted that voters in Kiang and Foni had shown their appreciation for ongoing projects in road infrastructure, rural development, health, education, and agriculture.
Njie concluded by calling on undecided voters and other political parties to align themselves with the NPP, which he described as the “winning team.”
