President Barrow Distributes Campaign Vehicles to NPP Members, Urges Unity Ahead of Election

President Adama Barrow on Sunday distributed a fleet of campaign vehicles to members of his National People’s Party, stepping up the party’s preparations for the presidential election and urging supporters to remain united as the campaign approaches.

The vehicles were handed over during a ceremony at State House, where Mr. Barrow said they were intended to help party officials and supporters organize, travel, and mobilize voters across the country.

Mr. Barrow described campaigning as an essential part of the electoral process, saying political parties must engage directly with voters and organize effectively to build support.

He cautioned recipients against treating the vehicles as personal property, saying they had been acquired specifically for campaign activities and should remain in active use.

“NPP leadership has provided all the necessary tools for the campaign,” Mr. Barrow said. “Now the success or failure of the party at the polls will depend on the efforts of its members.”

The president said an additional 25 to 30 vehicles had been reserved for party members who had not yet received one, adding that those who require transportation for campaign work would be accommodated.

Beyond campaign logistics, Mr. Barrow used the occasion to address tensions within the governing party, calling on members to avoid jealousy, infighting and public disputes, particularly on social media.

“Everyone will have their share in this party,” he said, arguing that airing internal disagreements publicly would do little to resolve them.

Mr. Barrow also appealed to the party’s women’s groups and National Executive Committee to maintain cohesion ahead of the election. He attributed the NPP’s political gains to the collective efforts of its members and warned that internal divisions could undermine the party as it seeks to retain power.

The president said maintaining political power required discipline and unity, cautioning supporters that prolonged disputes among party members could jeopardize the progress the NPP has made.

The distribution comes as the NPP intensifies preparations for the presidential campaign, with Mr. Barrow seeking another term in office.
