WAFU: Gambia Thrash Liberia 4-1 in Their Second Game

The Gambia’s U20 have thrashed Liberia 4-1 at the ongoing WAFU tournament in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

This is the second game the Young Scorpions won in a row.

They opened their WAFU tournament with a 2-0 win over Cape Verde, two days ago.

Head Coach Abdoulie Bojang did not regret maintaining his previous team that defeated Cape Verde 2-0 to face Liberia.

The Young Scorpions opened their scoring in the 17th minute through  Steve Biko forward, Adama Bojang; but Liberia pushed for an equalizer, and got one in the 26th minute of the game .

Coach Bojang’s charges pushed harder in the remaining minutes of the first-half and restored their lead when CD Paracuell OS forward, Buboucarr Faal scored in the 33rd minute.

Then, Elite United midfielder, Muhammed Jobe who won the Man of The Match award made it three for the Young Scorpions in the 51st minute; before Banjul United forward, Mansour Mbye scoring the fourth goal for The Gambia in the 88th minute; making it 4-1.
