Ebrima Jawo, the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) candidate for the Banjul mayoral election, has endorsed the National People’s Party (NPP) candidate Ebou Faye. Jawo said he made the decision in the best interests of Banjul.

“If you want and your country wants, you leave it for your country. We are all working for the best interests of Banjul. I am not backing down because I am afraid. We know the people that are behind us. We came together after discussing with Honorable Muhammed Ndow, the Deputy Speaker, and other people who were sent by the elders, so that we would not split the votes in Banjul. As a person, half of you belongs to yourself and the other half belongs to the people.” he said

Ebou Faye, the National People’s Party (NPP) candidate for the Banjul mayoral election, has described Ebrima’s endorsement of his campaign as valuable.

“This is a valuable addition, we are all from Banjul, and we know each other, and we know the work he is doing in Banjul and his contribution to the revival of Banjul. We are all from the same background (With Ebrima Jawo). He is a brother, and we have mutual respect. We thank you for joining us, and we will use your expertise for the transformation of Banjul to be a vibrant city,” he said.

The endorsement ceremony was held at the office of the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, who is also the Deputy spokesperson of the National People’s Party (NPP), Seedy Njie. Also in attendance was the former Banjul Central National Assembly Member, Muhammed Ndow, the National People’s Party Mayoral Candidate for Banjul candidate, Ebou Faye, among others.
