UDP REAFFIRMS ITS ZERO TOLERANCE FOR TRIBALISM AND DIVISIVE POLITICS
The United Democratic Party (UDP) wishes to strongly reaffirm its unwavering stance against all forms of tribalism, ethnic discrimination, and divisive politics in The Gambia.
As a nation, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment in our history. Our beautiful ethnic diversity is both our greatest strength and, regrettably, a frequent target for political provocation. The Gambia deserves better than to be torn apart by rhetoric designed to divide us. For decades, Gambians of every background have lived side by side in peace, and the UDP is committed to protecting that harmony.
The UDP categorically distances itself from any expressions of ethnic or tribal politics, whether they originate from party members, supporters, or non-members. Such actions are contrary to our values, the aspirations of our people, and the spirit of national unity we seek to nurture.
Our greater mission is clear, that is ending the corrupt administration of Adama Barrow, which has become a barrier to the progress and dignity of our people. We cannot afford to be distracted by tribal rhetorics or divisive politics when the future of our nation is at stake.
The UDP calls on all members, supporters, and fellow citizens to embrace the strength of our diversity, to uplift one another, and to engage in constructive dialogue that advances the common good. Our diversity is not a weakness, it is a blessing, a precious asset that must be honored and protected.
Together, united in purpose, we can overcome the challenges before us and build a Gambia that reflects our shared values, diverse heritage, and collective hopes. The UDP remains steadfast in its commitment to harmony, unity, and progress for all Gambians.
