Bank and hospital officials at the presentation

Trust Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to improving healthcare delivery in The Gambia with the donation of medical supplies valued at D150,000 to Soma District Hospital.
The items, presented on Thursday, December 11, 2025, include scanning gel, a pulse oximeter, fetal dopplers, cotton rolls, IV medications, examination gloves, Kenacort injections, Madar liquid soap, and other essential supplies aimed at enhancing service delivery at the facility.
The donation forms part of Trust Bank’s ongoing efforts to support healthcare institutions across the country, particularly in underserved areas, with the objective of improving patient care and strengthening health service delivery.
Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director, the bank’s Head of Sales and Public Relations, Amie Kolleh Secka, emphasized Trust Bank’s continued dedication to strengthening healthcare infrastructure nationwide. She noted that the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting institutions that play a critical role in improving lives.
“The gesture is part of Trust Bank’s support for institutions dedicated to improving lives. We recognize the crucial role Soma District Hospital plays in providing essential healthcare services in the region,” she said.
The Chief of Jarra West, Alhaji Yaya Jarjusey, expressed appreciation for the donation and commended Trust Bank for its sustained support to the health sector. He also appealed for further assistance, particularly towards the completion of a doctors’ accommodation facility currently under construction at the hospital.
“Trust Bank is my bank, and I have been banking with them since inception. We thank Trust Bank for its continued support. We appeal for additional assistance to complete the doctors’ accommodation facility, which will greatly benefit the hospital,” he said.
Trust Bank’s Head of Marketing and Business Development, Alex Alasan Gomez, underscored the importance of decentralizing healthcare services to ensure equitable access for all Gambians while urging communities to support initiatives that strengthen local health facilities. “Decentralizing healthcare services is key to ensuring equitable access for all Gambians,” he noted.
The Officer-in-Charge of Soma District Hospital, Omar Kuyateh, also expressed gratitude on behalf of the hospital management and staff, stating that the donated items will significantly enhance daily operations and improve patient outcomes.”These donated items will significantly enhance our day-to-day routine and improve patient outcomes.
