Trust Bank Donates D200,000 Worth of Medical Supplies to Basse District Hospital’s Male Ward

Trust Bank on Thursday, December 11, 2025, donated medical supplies valued at D200,000 to the male ward of Basse District Hospital, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in The Gambia.

The bank described the donation as particularly significant, noting that while healthcare support often prioritizes maternity and women’s health services, men’s health also deserves focused attention.

The donated items include detergents, office supplies, and a range of essential medical consumables needed for the effective running of the ward.

Speaking on behalf of Trust Bank’s Managing Director, Amie Kolleh Secka, the Head of Sales and Public Relations highlighted the bank’s decade-long partnership with Basse District Hospital. She said the collaboration is grounded in the belief that good health is essential to building a thriving community and that everyone—regardless of gender—deserves access to quality healthcare.

She added that supporting health institutions remains a core part of Trust Bank’s corporate social responsibility, emphasizing that the bank aims to make meaningful and sustainable contributions. She reaffirmed Trust Bank’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the hospital.“With this donation we hope to highlight the significance of men’s health and encourage the ongoing focus on improving healthcare for everyone in our society. The amount of D200,000 is not just a figure; it is a reflection of commitment to responding to the hospital’s most pressing needs,” she said.

Dr. Edrissa Jawo, Senior Medical Officer and Officer-in-Charge of Basse District Hospital, expressed appreciation for Trust Bank’s consistent support. He commended the bank for its long-standing partnership and noted that the donated items would significantly improve patient care and health outcomes.

“These items will go a long way in providing healthcare. As a healthy nation is a happy nation because without health you cannot carry out your activities,” he said.

Regional Senior Nursing Officer Bakary Camara and Binta Drammeh, Head of the Medical Ward, also expressed their gratitude and assured that the supplies would be effectively utilized for the benefit of the community.
