Trust Bank has reinforced its commitment to strengthening The Gambia’s healthcare system with a donation valued at D200,000 to Bwiam General Hospital, comprising office materials and essential equipment.
The donation, made in response to requests from the hospital’s management, includes office supplies, electronic equipment, lockers, and other critical items. These materials are expected to improve day-to-day operations, enhance staff efficiency, and contribute to better service delivery and patient care at the facility.
A delegation from Trust Bank was warmly received by representatives of the Alikalo of Bwiam and members of the local community, who offered prayers for the bank’s continued growth and success. Community speakers also encouraged residents to bank with Trust Bank, noting that such support enables the institution to sustain its social responsibility initiatives.
Speaking on behalf of Trust Bank’s Managing Director, Amie Kolleh Secka, the Head of Sales and Public Relations said the donation forms part of the bank’s broader efforts to support healthcare delivery and uphold the high standards of care for which Bwiam General Hospital is known. She emphasized that Trust Bank prioritizes interventions that directly address the most pressing needs of beneficiary institutions, adding that the partnership with the hospital continues to grow stronger.
“This donation is aimed at bolstering healthcare delivery and supporting the high standards of care for which Bwiam General Hospital is known,” she said.
Receiving the donation, the Chief Executive Officer of Bwiam General Hospital, Kebba Manneh, expressed sincere appreciation for Trust Bank’s unwavering support. He described the contribution as part of the bank’s longstanding tradition of allocating resources to support hospitals across the country, noting that the donated items would benefit both staff and patients and be put to immediate use.
“These donated materials would support both staff and patients, enhance professional efficiency, and ensure immediate utilization,” said Kebba Manneh, CEO of Bwiam General Hospital.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Alieu Sonko, also conveyed the institution’s gratitude, describing the relationship with Trust Bank as a model of effective public–private partnership. He said the bank’s continued support has improved infrastructure, strengthened medical capacity, and boosted the morale and motivation of healthcare professionals and support staff.
“These materials would support both staff and our patients, it will enhance professional efficiency, and ensure immediate utilization,” he said.
Trust Bank’s Head of Marketing and Business Development, Alex Gomez, thanked the Bwiam community and hospital management for their effective use of the ATM machine installed at the facility. He encouraged residents to embrace digital banking and technological innovation in line with global trends, highlighting the role of digitalization in expanding access to financial services.
“I congratulate the Bwiam community and hospital management for effectively using the AMT Machine”, said Gomez. He added “I urged the people to embrace technological digitalization, it brings the world together”, he said.
Also speaking at the event, Lamin Barrow, Nursing Officer at Bwiam General Hospital, praised Trust Bank for its sustained support, noting that the bank’s interventions have a meaningful impact on individuals, families, and communities. He assured the bank that the donated items would significantly enhance service delivery at the hospital.
“Trust Bank’s interventions contribute significantly to improving the lives of individuals, families, and communities, and we thank them for this support, it will go a long way in enhancing service delivery at the hospital,” he said.
