Seedy Njie, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Deputy Spokesperson of the National People’s Party (NPP), alongside senior party officials, continued their nationwide distribution of sports materials and financial support to football teams over the weekend.
Njie, accompanied by Mod K. Ceesay, Chief of Staff and Minister at the Presidency, presented the community of Kerr Pateh with eight sets of jerseys, 11 footballs, and D20,000 to assist with their local tournament.
Speaking at the event, Njie said the initiative was in line with President Adama Barrow’s commitment to empowering young people and addressing key national development priorities such as electricity, roads, education, and infrastructure.“The president said the people of Kerr Pateh, Central Badibou, and the entire Gambia supported him in the 2021 presidential election, and because of that, he will support the youth,” Njie stated.
He emphasized that their presence in the village, together with the Chief of Staff and other officials, was a demonstration of the president’s pledge to continue backing youth development initiatives across The Gambia.
