Today, I am saddened by the news that my friend, colleague and former Minister, Honourable Lamin N. Dibba has passed away. I have also been informed that my brother Yusupha Cham lost his wife.
Honourable Dibba’s demise is a great loss not only to his family but to the nation as a whole.
I extend my sincere condolences to the Dibba family, the UDP and its leader, Ousainou Darboe, all politicians and the people of The Gambia.
Mr Dibba’s career as a politician has left a mark on the political terrain of the country and will always be remembered for his contribution to nation-building.
I pray to the Almighty Allah to grant him a place in Jannahtul Firdawsi.
In a similar vein, I extend my sincere condolences and prayers to Yusupha Cham on the demise of his wife. I pray that Allah gives him the fortitude to bear the deep sense of loss.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
