Hon. Madi M.K. Ceesay, National Assembly member for Serekunda West, on Monday officially launched his latest book, Landing B. Sanneh: A Vision for Development, at the Mansakonko Area Council in the Lower River Region.

The six-chapter publication examines the leadership and development philosophy of Mansakonko Area Council Chairman Landing B. Sanneh. It highlights his role in strengthening local governance, advancing community-driven development, and outlining key priorities pursued under his tenure.

In addition to detailing Chairman Sanneh’s development agenda, the book provides a comprehensive biographical account, tracing his personal background, professional career, and trajectory in public service.

During the launch, Hon. Ceesay expressed gratitude to attendees and reflected on his motivation for writing. He noted that his literary work began earlier this year with the publication of his first set of books in February 2025 and said the positive reception has inspired him to continue documenting political and cultural histories.

“My work is writing. Before documenting the lives of others, one must first turn the lens inward,” Hon. Ceesay said. “My goal is to have each of these chairmen’s lives, political journeys, and history recorded in a book. I began with Talib Ahmed Bensouda, but regrettably, he betrayed us after the book was completed. Still, the project must continue,” he added.

Speaking at the event, Lamin Manneh, Deputy Secretary for External Affairs of the United Democratic Party (UDP), lauded Chairman Sanneh’s leadership and the developmental strides made in the Lower River Region. He also commended Hon. Ceesay’s efforts in chronicling local government initiatives.

“Honorable Madi, this project is important because it recognizes people’s efforts and preserves them for future generations,” he remarked.

Speaking on behalf of Chairman Sanneh, Lamin J. Sanneh noted that the book reflects the chairman’s unwavering commitment to development and service. He emphasized that the publication captures Sanneh’s vision for inclusive growth and dedication to transparency and good governance within local councils.
