The Gambia Police Force has secured convictions against five Nigerian nationals, including Henry Obinna, at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, marking a significant step in the fight against cybercrime.
The accused faced charges of unlawful possession of devices and data, computer-related extortion, fraud, and forgery. During proceedings, all five defendants pleaded guilty to the charges brought against them.
According to the police, the convicts have been remanded at Mile II Central Prison pending plea in mitigation and sentencing, which is scheduled for October 6, 2025.
