Four Soldiers Dead, One in Critical Condition- Sankareh Confirms

BJL 3036Q – Vehicle involved in the deadly accident

The death has been announced of four Gambian soldiers and one is reportedly in critical condition at the hospital after a vehicle they were travelling in somersaulted in the Foni village of Ndenbam. In an exclusive interview with the government spokesperson, Ebrima G. Sankareh, Kerr Fatou was informed that the incident happened at 5:55pm when a vehicle with registration Number BJL 3036Q accompanying NPP 1 lost control and somersaulted in Ndenbam resulting in the tragic lost of lives.

According to the government spokesperson, the president’s vehicle has had a flat tire earlier on in the afternoon somewhere in Kiang. The flat tire was replaced, and the president and entourage proceeded to Jarra Soma where they performed Zuhr prayers and thereafter proceeded to Mankamang Kunda.

The flat tire that happened in Kiang earlier in the afternoon, prompted the security to order for NPP1 to be sent from Banjul to Mankamang Kunda for backup purposes. It was during this transportation of NPP 1 from Banjul to Mankamang Kunda when the accident took place. The president and his entourage according to Mr. Sankareh, were not remotely close to the site of the accident because they were closed to Mankamang kunda when it happened. It was instead the convoy that was accompanying NPP1- the backup vehicle- to Mankamang Kunda that was involved.

As we go to press, the president and his family are safe and sound in Mankamang kunda according to Mr. Sankareh.

The soldiers involved in the accident were rushed to Sulayman Junkung Hospital in Bwiam where four of them were pronounced dead and one is in critical condition.

This is a developing story….
