Brikama Area Council and various contractors who submitted their bids for the construction of the feeder road in Brikama Jambarr Sanneh visited the site due for construction.

The site visit on Tuesday was meant to make the bidders familiarise themselves with the site as well as understand the scope of work needed for the construction.

The chairman of Brikama Area Council (BAC), Sheriffo Sonko dwelled on the importance of the project, saying the construction of the road will reduce congestion in the area and on the main road.

Lamin Sanneh, Governor of the West Coast Region said Brikama has only one way that is connected to the main road, noting that the construction of the feeder road will help the residents of the area.

“The road has been a nightmare for the communities for quite a while now, especially during the raining session,” he added.

The representative of the National Road Authority (NRA) Mr. Abboubacarr Drammeh said they expect the best because they want to build standard roads that would last long.

“Road construction is very expensive. That is why we do not just pick anyone to do the job. We will continue to push the contractors when they are on board and the consultant, to ensure that supervision and other things are in place and we will continue to push the executing agencies to make sure that our targets are met,” he said.
